linda es la palabra del día

Ho hum, ho hum. I am so incredibly tired. I did a lot of junk today. I went to the library with my sister, then out to lunch, then to the Japanese bookstore, and then to the Porter Exchange, and then home again. It took us quite a while to do everything, but it was pretty fun. I've been working on a top secret project the past few hours that cannot be divulged as of quite yet. After all, who knows who reads this? I don't want them to find out anything, especially not from me. I finally found the cable for my crappy digital camera, so I was happy. It ended up in a bag with the warranty for my monitor. I don't know how the heck that happened, but it was there. I was going crazy looking for it a few days ago.

Today when we were walking to the library, my sister and I passed these two guys. As they walked past, one of them said, "Eres linda, muy muy linda..." If you are a schlor of foreign languages, this is a pretty easy one. I am guessing that the guy was Spanish, but it is almost the same in Portuguese, so I wasn't sure which language it was. Still, whenever you hear the word linda, it's pretty apparent that you know what they're talking about. *hehe* They thought that I was pretty...they said that I was very, very pretty. I thought this was extremely funny, because they didn't know that I understood what they were saying to me. So, I just smiled and walked along my merry way. I wanted to scream back to them, "¡Ya sé eso!" (I already know that!), but I figured that it was sort of an arrogant and very uncool thing to say. In that case, I didn't say it. This is probably the third or fourth time that a hispanic person has said something like that to me. I don't know why...I'm not hispanic, and I don't even remotely look as if I might be. They were really cute though, so I didn't mind. It's just funny that they think that I don't know what they're saying. I'll keep my mouth shut from now on and just listen to what people have to say about me.

Oh yes, I must talk about the second day of the family reunion. Well, Saturday night, I came home late and got ready to go straight to bed. I had a wicked sunburn, and I was feeling really sick. I woke up every hour, and there were spans where I couldn't go back to sleep. I was dehydrated, and there was nothing in the room to drink. I just ended up drinking water from the faucet. I woke up about a half hour after that, and ended up puking everything all up. It was so utterly disgusting. I could have also been pretty sick for the fact that I finished off one of Courtney's Zima Ice drinks too. She let me have one because it tasted like Sprite, and it was good. I don't think that mixed with a sunburn was a very healthy choice. I paid for it the entire night.

The next morning, my dad was supposed to take me to church, but he let me stay home to sleep a little bit extra, as I hadn't slept all night, and I felt and looked like garbage. I got up though, put on some clean clothes, and got ready for more family fun. Sunday was pretty boring, as a lot of people were leaving early, and things were clearing out. I busied myself raiding my aunt's refrigerator looking for something other than coke or coffee, or other dehydrating drinks. I think my eyes lit up when I found a gallon of orange juice in there. I was so happy after that moment. I don't think I even really ate that day, except for a muffin that I had in the morning. Most of the day I sat underneath an umbrella, in the shade, for fear of ending up with any more burns. I wanted to go to the beach, but I would have probably died, so I didn't. I sat around and talked to my cousins from South Carolina. Later on in the day, I went into the house to watch television with Guillermo and one of Chris' friends. He was pretty cute, but he was sitting there making me bored to tears watching lacrosse, so that was a major turn off. I wanted to talk to Guillermo after the kid had left, but he fell asleep! My trusty sidekick! ARGH!

Most of the day was rather uneventful, except for a water fight between trailor trash girl and Chris' friends. I had to kiss everyone goodbye, and then we packed up in the car and went home. It wasn't as bad as I had expected. My cousin's husband had a bunch of those glow necklaces, and he left some in the car for Kat and I. The whole way home I was wearing it on my head, doing tricks with it, etc. It was a plethora of fun. I'm sad now, because it's sitting on the floor...not glowing...*sigh* I wish glowing stuff could last forever.

Ciao.
